He is an internationally recognized surveyor and certified member of the International Association of Official Experts, holding the designation of Certified Official Expert for surveying, ship classification inspection, flag state inspection, loss adjusting, and auditing services. He is also a fellowship member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance based in the United States, demonstrating recognized expertise in complex claims management and dispute resolution processes.
Mr. Zakian is recognized as an IAOE Legal Surveyor and Advisor for justice claims, insurance matters, fire investigations, damage assessments, and marine casualties, qualified to provide expert testimony and technical opinions for legal proceedings, arbitration, and dispute resolution. He holds qualifications as a Marine Engineer with specialized expertise in Quality Management Systems, ISO management systems implementation and auditing, ISPS Code compliance verification, ISM Code implementation and auditing, Energy Efficiency certification, International Labour Organization Maritime Labour Convention 2006 compliance, and Ballast Water Management Convention requirements. He serves as an approved Flag State Inspector for multiple maritime flag administrations and maintains recognition by several Non-IACS classification associations worldwide for conducting hull and machinery surveys, statutory surveys, safety inspections, and certification services.
His professional background includes significant tenures with internationally recognized organizations. One of his most recent positions before establishing the current organization was Branch Manager and Senior Surveyor for Bureau Veritas, one of the world's most recognized and respected inspection, verification, testing, and certification companies serving maritime, industrial, and commercial sectors globally. This experience with a major international classification society and inspection organization provided invaluable exposure to the highest industry standards, best practices, sophisticated technical methodologies, and the operational requirements of serving diverse international clients across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks.
We maintain professional recognition as inspectors approved by multiple classification associations worldwide, enabling us to conduct statutory surveys, class surveys, and certification services on behalf of these organizations. We serve as court-appointed experts for investigation, arbitration, and expert witness services in maritime and industrial disputes. We hold memberships and area representative positions with international organizations, inspection and survey companies, insurers, Protection and Indemnity Clubs, loss adjusting firms, legal practices, classification associations, and maritime flag administrations. We serve as representatives of Humber Inspection International Limited Company for performing Chartered Engineer Certificate inspections required for Indian trade, and we maintain membership in the TMN Survey Group, an association of worldwide survey services providers facilitating international coverage and collaborative capabilities.
